About Celeste

Celeste: The Cat Who Chose a Different Future This beautiful 2 year old arrived at ARF at the end of May after a local grassroots rescue learned she had been fending for herself on the streets. The original plan was for Celeste to participate in a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program. It's a process in which community cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered and returned to the area where they were living. Everything went according to plan at first. Celeste was safely secured and spayed. But when the time came to return her to her outdoor home, she made her feelings crystal clear. She refused to leave her carrier. Instead, Celeste stayed put and repeatedly meowed as if she were delivering the important message, "I want a different life." The rescue listened. It was obvious that Celeste wasn't interested in returning to a life of uncertainty on the streets. Friendly and people-oriented, she seemed determined to remain under human care and finally experience the comfort and security of an indoor home. Now at ARF, we're hoping to make Celeste's wish come true. She dreams of sunny windowsills instead of sidewalks, cozy beds instead of hiding spots and a family to love instead of having to fend for herself. After surviving life outdoors, Celeste has chosen a future filled with companionship, comfort and care. If you're looking for a sweet, friendly companion who practically adopted herself into indoor life, Celeste may be the perfect match. Come meet the little tabby who refused to settle for the streets and decided it was finally time to come home. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
