I knew what it felt like to belong. Then one day, everything changed. After a new baby joined the family, I was left behind. My owner surrendered me when I was 14 years old, after having me for 12 years. Now at 16, when most dogs should be spending their days surrounded by the people theyve loved their whole lives, Im still searching for a new start. I wont pretend that it doesnt break my heart. But heres the thing about me: Im stronger than I look. Im a senior girl, but dont let my age fool you. I still love to run, explore, investigate every interesting smell, and show off just how athletic I can be. I may have some gray on my face, but my spirit is still full of life. Im independent and quiet by nature, but once I bond with someone, my loyalty runs deep. I love keeping an eye on my people and making sure everyone is safe. Some might call me protective. I call it loving with my whole heart. Im also pretty smart, if I do say so myself. I know how to sit, give paw, and Im always happy to learn something new if it means spending time with my favorite humans. I get along well with other dogs, but I can be a little protective of my things, so Id do best as the only dog in the home. Id also prefer a calm home without young children. After everything Ive been through, Im looking for peace. A soft bed. A predictable routine. A family who understands that senior dogs still have so much love left to give. I dont need another 12 years. I just need someone willing to give me whatever time I have left. Someone who will see that my story isnt over. Someone who will cherish the quiet moments, the walks, the paw shakes, and the unconditional love that only a senior dog can offer. Ive already given a lifetime of loyalty.
