AvailableAbout Katara
Katara 8 years, 55lbs Rescued in Southwest Katara is an 8 year old, 50 lb. Pyrenees mix. She's gentle, loves other dogs and loves her people. She comes up to both of us quite a bit for cuddles, so if you want a dog that loves pets or sitting with you on the couch, Katara is your gal! She is completely house-trained and sleeps through the night. This girl loves her naps (and a comfy dog bed)! She is good on the leash - pulls a bit when she wants to go a different direction but is easily re-directed! Like most Pyrenees dogs, Katara is very food motivated, so training her will be a breeze. She already knows "sit" and "leave it" - we are currently working on "down" and "stay." She loves her walks and sniffs, but I would describe her as low-energy. We haven't cat-tested her, but we know she's good with other dogs and she is so sweet with new people, especially kids. We have two reptile terrariums in our living room as well, and she hasn't bothered with them. Katara isn't picky about food or where she pees/poops outside, and isn't that fazed by loud noises - so I think she'd be fine in the city or the suburbs. Our dog recently heard a big noise that she thought was thunder, and Katara stood by her and made sure she was okay - totally unfazed by the noise and more focused on comforting our pup. She also isn't much of a barker - we haven't heard a peep since she came home with us. She could be a great apartment dog, but would also be fine in a home. When it comes to toys, she hasn't played with them much, but as she blossoms I'm sure she'll love chewing on bones or playing with balls. As for bathroom schedule, we've been taking her out with our other dog 4x/day. Morning, midday, dinnertime and bedtime. Katara is overall just the sweetest, calmest dog and could fit into most, if any, household. **Katara previously tested positive for heartworm and was treated before she left the Southwest INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
