Domanique is a social and affectionate girl who loves being part of the action, often following her people from room to room just to stay close. While she may be a little cautious about touch at first, she shows affection in her own sweet way—confidently greeting people, rubbing against them, and wanting to be nearby. This talkative lady is playful, food-motivated, and very serious about mealtime! One of her biggest recent milestones has been learning to trust enough to sit in her foster mom’s lap—a beautiful reminder that patience and kindness truly pay off. Domanique has excellent house manners, including great litter box habits, and is comfortable meeting new people when her boundaries are respected. She has done well with a calm, medium-sized dog and may also do well with calm cats or dogs following a slow introduction. After struggling in the shelter environment and becoming stressed and unhappy, Domanique moved into foster care where she has truly blossomed. In a calmer setting, her affectionate and playful personality has had the chance to shine. Domanique also has a mild eye condition that causes her pupils to stay more dilated than normal. The good news is that she currently has no vision loss and does not require medication or treatment. She sees best in typical indoor lighting and may be less comfortable in very bright light or direct sunlight, so she is looking for an indoor-only home where she can stay safe and comfortable. Domanique is searching for a patient and understanding adopter who will let the relationship grow at her pace. In return, she promises the kind of loyalty and companionship that is truly special.
