AvailableAbout Myers
Myers is a high-energy, rough-and-rowdy dog who thrives on interaction and play, but is starting to struggle in the kennel environment. He is showing signs of kennel decline, including increasing reactivity through barriers, likely due to frustration and lack of appropriate outlets for his energy. In playgroups, Myers has consistently done well with other high-energy dogs, matching intensity and engaging in full-speed running, wrestling, and body slams. He has a very physical play style and communicates appropriately when he's ready to disengage. Outside of the kennel, he has shown the ability to settle, engage with people, and respond to basic direction, especially with handlers he knows well. Myers does have a high prey drive and is not safe around cats or small animals. The challenges: Showing signs of kennel decline, including barrier reactivity High prey drive and has gone after a cat, so he cannot live with small animals Very high energy with a rough-and-rowdy play style that may not suit all dogs Can become overstimulated without proper outlets The good stuff: Social with other dogs who match his play style and energy Communicates well with other dogs and knows when to disengage Smart, responsive, and able to follow direction with familiar handlers Enjoys interactive play and engagement with people Can settle and be affectionate in calmer environments Who he needs: Myers would do best in an active home that can provide consistent physical and mental outlets for his energy. A dog-savvy adopter who understands high-drive dogs and can provide structure and guidance will be important for his success. He may do well with another dog who enjoys a similar rough-and-rowdy play style, but proper introductions will be key. A home without cats or small animals is required. With the right environment and outlets, Myers has the potential to be a fun, engaging, and loyal companion. He just needs a setting that can meet his energy and keep him mentally fulfilled.
