Shy little Leo is looking for his forever person! Leo is a purebred two year old Red dachshund. Leo was rescued from a shelter in Southern Ca, and we are grateful to have been able to pull him and get him to safety. While he is such a handsome fellow, he needs a person (or two) that can give him the time he needs to open up and feel safe and secure. His ideal environment would be a calm household with room for him to decompress and let his personality come out! He loves toys, a nice treat, and loves to burrow in bed. He has shown to do well with other dogs, but may thrive with dogs that are not of an extra large breed. He walks well on a leash, is potty trained and sleeps well in his crate. While he appears to do well with kids, because he has shown to be reactive with quick movements, it would be best for him to enter a household with adults only. Leo takes him time warming up to you, but once he does, he will not shy away from nudging you with his nose to snuggle. If you feel like youre Leos human, please apply!
