Mittens is available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Northwest Indiana! My name is Mittens and I have a very important message for you, MEEEOOOOWWWW! That's my way of saying hello and how do you do? I'm a big fan of talking! I love to vocalize my feelings, whether it's to say hello, to let you know I'm ready for dinner or to ask for some cuddles. Meow, meow meow! My story is starts sad but ends wonderfully I was homeless and living on the streets, tired and hungry, when a nice human saw me. I said, Meow?" and they finally understood I was meant to be an indoor cat. They got me to the shelter and now I'm rested and well fed! It's the best feeling in the world to be safe, warm, and not have to worry about where my next meal will come from. Next I'd like to ask you, "Meow?" which translates to human speak as, "can you give me my forever home?" I'm a good boy and I love people and will happily follow you around to tell you all about my day. I'm usually okay with other kitties so a home other kitties might be okay ( with the proper introduction period) Or I'm okay with being your one and only furry friend! Our volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to gain their trust to show them they are safe and no one will hurt them. However, when the kitties go to a new home, some will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months.
