My story is exactly what my name sounds like... a long, hard road, but one I'm ready to finally leave behind. For close to a year, I was left to survive on my own after being left behind when my family moved away. Thankfully, a kindhearted neighbor made sure I was fed every day and never completely alone. Because of her, I learned what kindness feels like. Now it’s my turn to share my love of life with my new family. I'm close to eight years young and I'm a spry, handsome gentleman but I too would very much enjoy my cozy, couch potato era. I'm dog-friendly and previously coexisted well with a small Yorkie, so I've got a great foundation for a home with other pups. What I really need is a soft place to land, consistent meals, and someone to finally call my very own family. Senior dogs like me struggle in the shelter. It’s loud, stressful, and not the place for a dog who’s already spent so much time just trying to get by. I'm seeking quiet naps, gentle affection, and the chance to truly relax for the first time in a long time. I’m gentle, sweet, and grateful for every bit of kindness that comes my way. I don’t ask for much. I just want someone who sees the beauty in a senior dog, someone who understands the quiet joy we bring. If you need a soft-souled friend who will follow you from room to room and remind you what peaceful companionship feels like, I think we might be perfect for each other.
