Rootie is a very large, very handsome, very tall gentleman looking for a family to love him forever. He is a 3 year old, 72lb, large mixed breed. He is basically a dog who looks like he should have his own parking space and maybe a LinkedIn profile. We are not totally sure what his mix is, but our best guess is part majestic goofball, with a possible splash of professional athlete who forgot he is not a lap dog. Believe it or not, it works for him! Rootie is big, fun, friendly, and full of life. He has been in a foster home with cats, kids, and other dogs, so he has already had some experience being part of a real home and all the chaos that comes with it. Rootie loves to play ball and has an absolute blast in playgroups. He is the kind of dog who shows up ready for recess, gym class, and the after party. He would do great in an active home that wants a dog who is up for adventures, yard time, fetch sessions, and being admired by strangers who will definitely say, "Wow, he's gorgeous!" Rootie is sweet, social, playful, and ridiculously good looking. He's looking for a family who appreciates a big dog with an even bigger personality and maybe has room on the couch, because Rootie seems like the type who may believe furniture is simply shared seating for very handsome dogs. HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: - Come in during adoption hours to apply and fill out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Tuesday 2-6pm, Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. - Fill out an online application to adopt by clicking here: https://tinyurl.com/4yy3nz2d - We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord. - We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets. Helpful reminders: *We do not do same day adoptions. *Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in. *We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date.
