About Zuzu

Zuzu is a 4-year-old mixed breed girl full of resilience and heart. Spayed and up to date on vaccinations, she's finally discovering the joy of safety and love. Zuzu's journey began in the winter of 2023 when she was found wandering the streets, cold and terrified. For weeks, she eluded help until the right moment came when she wandered into a yard where she could be secured. Initially, Zuzu reacted to kindness with fear, barking and growling as her way of coping. She had learned to keep people at a distance, not out of malice but from a history of hardship. After being rescued, Zuzu embarked on a rehabilitation journey, showing immense bravery as she learned to trust again. She even underwent surgery to remove a painful broken tooth, which contributed to her anxiety. Zuzu has excelled in a board and train program with From The Heart Dog Services. Here, she practiced outings in public spaces and learned to seek guidance from her handler instead of reacting from a place of fear. She has made incredible strides in her confidence and interactions with strangers. Zuzu truly deserves a loving forever home that will continue to nurture her journey. Ready to fall in love?
