Hi, I'm Ralphee. A sweet and loving boy, looking for a loving home. When I arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, I tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like me to be while going through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours. If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will fully recover! Yeah! All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
