At 5 years old, this chocolate lab retriever mix weighs 53 pounds and is spayed, eager to find a peaceful forever home where she can thrive. Coming from a hoarding situation in Mexico, she's overcoming her past and discovering joy in being a cherished pet. Flora is active and playful, enjoying about an hour of various activities each day followed by much-needed nap time. She adores treats, cuddles, and walks, and she particularly loves water—whether it's sprinklers or a kiddie pool, she’s ready to dive in. While she gets along with kids, she does not do well with dogs or cats, so a home where she is the only pet is ideal. Flora can be a bit nervous around strangers, but warming up to new people with treats works wonders. She is nearly potty trained and fully crate trained, seeing her crate as her own private retreat. Flora is still learning leash manners and can pull when intrigued, but she’s eager to learn with the help of tasty rewards. A calm and predictable home environment would truly help Flora feel secure as she continues to bloom into her happiest self.
