About Luna

Meet Luna, a unique 1.5-year-old girl weighing 14 pounds. She is a Xoloitzcuintli, also known as a Mexican Hairless dog, renowned for their minimal fur. While she’s primarily a Xoloitzcuintli, there might be a dash of Dachshund in her mix, which we could confirm with a DNA test. Luna is sweet and somewhat shy, having been raised in a loving family. Unfortunately, they had to move to a dog-free area, and that's where we came in to help. In her previous home, Luna preferred using pee pads but is also fine with going outdoors. She enjoys cuddling and sleeping in bed with her humans, often needing a gentle rock to drift off to sleep. Given her breed, Luna requires special care; her skin needs regular bathing, and she lacks natural sun protection, so sunscreen and shaded spots outdoors are essential. Though she has some youthful acne, this should clear up with age. To support her health and shiny appearance, she's currently on Blue Buffalo Salmon food.
