About Cesar

Meet Cesar. Cesar is a four-year-old Shih Tzu, who was surrendered on his birthday when his owner could no longer care for him. He’s understandably scared, having lost the person he loved and finding himself in this new environment. Thankfully, our dedicated team is surrounding him with the love and patience he needs to adjust. Currently, he's bonding with a couple of our staff who are helping him feel safe. Cesar has spent much of his life in a sheltered home, so everything here is brand new and a bit overwhelming for him. He’s very shy and tends to be on guard, which means he’ll need quiet consistency and time to help him break down the barriers he has built. Despite this, we’ve seen him start to make progress during his short time at the shelter. With a little more patience, we believe he will become an incredibly loyal companion. Cesar is pad trained, fully vetted, and neutered. Although he has not been tested with dogs or cats due to his current fear, he could use a fenced yard to keep him safe; he can jump at least four feet and might dash off if scared. Cesar seems to feel anxious when his favorite team member is out of sight, but we’re hopeful that as he decompresses, his confidence will grow. We are inviting applications, especially from those who understand that Cesar will need time to adjust. If you’re interested in making Cesar part of your family, please submit an application online. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
