About Trout
Meet Trout! This handsome guy nearly faced an untimely fate at the shelter, but thanks to his amazing foster mom, he found a second chance. Trout is truly something special. At first glance, you might think he’s a high-energy dog in need of rigorous exercise. But he surprises everyone with his chill demeanor. Trout enjoys a good hike or a romp with his dog friends, but once the fun's over, he loves nothing more than sprawling out on the couch, legs up in the air, entering full relaxation mode. Though a bit shy initially, Trout just needs a moment to assess his surroundings. After he warms up, you'll find a devoted companion who genuinely wants to be by your side. He’s kennel trained, house trained, and knows basic commands. He gets along well with his foster siblings of all sizes and enjoys human company too. However, he does have a curious interest in squirrels and cats, so it’s best to consider his feelings about feline housemates. Trout has one quirk: he absolutely refuses to take medicine, even if hidden in tasty treats! This young fellow, estimated at about 2 years old and weighing 54 lbs, is undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for adoption soon. Trout dreams of a home that will include him in outdoor adventures like camping and fishing. Currently fostered in Houston, TX, Trout is available for adoption in many areas. His adoption fee is $600, which covers transport and includes all veterinary care. If Trout sounds like your perfect adventure buddy, don’t wait. Apply today!
