About Fidella
Have you ever truly experienced life if you haven't been owned by a Beagle? Fidella is 100% Beagle in both looks and attitude. Before her rescue, she lived in a hutch and worked as a hunting dog. While she excelled at tracking, her recall skills leave much to be desired. Those large floppy ears? Not exactly for listening when her nose is on the ground. She found her way to the shelter after a heartworm diagnosis, and now, four weeks later, she's ready for a loving home. Fidella embodies all the typical traits of a Beagle. Her primary focus is on following interesting scents, and when her nose goes down, everything else fades away. Expect to hear her signature howl when she picks up a good trail. Because of her instinct to follow scents, she'll need to be kept on a leash or in a secure yard. Inside, she prefers lounging on dog beds or couches. While she enjoys human company, she isn’t the type to demand constant affection. A true independent spirit, you might catch her snuggling with another dog, but that’s about as social as she gets. Fidella is house-trained and will sleep in her crate with the door open. Just keep in mind, walks can turn from a leisurely stroll to a sprint if she catches an enticing scent. We advise against adopting Fidella as a first dog, especially if you're not familiar with Beagles. She’s a lovely girl, but her strong tracking instincts mean she needs an experienced owner who can manage her independent behavior.
