About Kira
Meet Kira, a sweet and shy girl recently surrendered from a commercial breeder. At just 1 year old and about 40 lbs, she's a golden doodle who exemplifies the meaning of her name—sunshine—but unfortunately hasn't experienced much brightness in her life. She's taken her time adjusting to her new environment and is starting to come out of her shell with the help of patient foster care. Kira is great in the car and quickly learns routines, showing no accidents indoors. Whether as the only pet soaking up your love or sharing the space with a calm furry sibling, she thrives in a nurturing atmosphere. Her favorite pastime? Playing fetch with her beloved tennis ball, which she throws and catches by herself! Since Kira is still quite fearful, she needs a fully fenced yard and an understanding adopter to help her continue breaking through her barriers. Progressing from needing to be carried outside to now walking on a leash, she also enjoys exploring her yard and relaxing with her foster mom. An all-female home would suit her best, as she is not fond of males. After a transformation from being excessively matted to receiving her first real haircut, she requires regular grooming to keep her looking sharp. Kira is microchipped, up to date on her vaccines, spayed, and on preventative treatments for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. If you can provide the love and patience Kira needs, consider applying today at Zoe's House Rescue in Sinking Spring, PA. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let’s get started.
