About Duchess
Meet Duchess, formerly known as Rose. She returns to the Saving Paws Rescue AZ family after being adopted three years ago. Duchess, now around 4 years old, is a stunning German Shepherd weighing about 70 pounds. Her previous family loved her deeply, and their decision to return her was not taken lightly. Unfortunately, she began showing aggression towards small female dogs in the home, which made it unsafe for everyone involved. Duchess is spayed, house-trained, and has no known health concerns. She enjoys the company of her humans, whether they’re hiking together or lounging on the couch. Loyal and intelligent, she knows several commands and walks nicely on a harness. Duchess forms strong bonds with those she trusts and takes her role as a protector seriously. She requires a home that understands her needs and is willing to give her time to build trust. It's crucial that introductions be approached slowly, especially since she should not be around small dogs. Duchess may thrive as the only dog or with a compatible large male dog, but careful introductions are essential. Having successfully lived with teenagers, she enjoys being part of a busy household, though a home with older children or adults would be best given her size and protective nature. Duchess deserves a loving family committed to understanding her and ensuring her success. If you’re interested in giving her a second chance, reach out to Steve or Roberta for more information and guidance. Your new best friend is just one click away.
