About Nix
Nix is adjusting to home life and making steady progress every day. After enduring life in a hoarding situation and then spending a year in a shelter, she’s understandably a bit cautious around new people and situations. Thankfully, she is thriving in a foster home that includes a professional trainer and a friendly group of dogs who are helping her learn that humans can be safe and predictable. She’s a quiet companion and doesn’t bark much. Nix is crate trained and loves her crate so much that she hops right in for car rides. She walks nicely on a leash and gets along wonderfully with cats, hardly paying them any mind. Nix coexists beautifully with other dogs and is very food motivated, which makes her training sessions both enjoyable and rewarding. What she needs most is a loving, patient person dedicated to building trust. Nix may be nervous and will require a secure yard where she can feel safe as her confidence grows. She likes to stay connected, quietly observing her person as they go about their day. An adult-only home would suit Nix best, where she can thrive in a secure environment with someone who understands the joy of nurturing a shy dog. The bond you'll develop will take time, but it will be deeply rewarding. If Nix captures your heart or you have any questions, feel free to reach out to her foster mom Kelly at (406) 600-9422.
