About King

Meet King, a 2-year-old German Shepherd on the lookout for his forever home. This goofy and loyal boy is both smart and eager to please, showing off an impressive array of tricks. He can sit, stay, lie down, give paw, roll over, and so much more. At heart, King is a big baby who craves teamwork, playtime, and close bonding with his person. Potty trained and crate trained, King enjoys walks and behaves well on a leash. While he can be loyal and protective, he's learning about appropriate boundaries when it comes to guarding. He's been reactive to other dogs while on a leash, but with proper, slow introductions, he can be friendly. It’s best if he is the only dog in the home or placed with an experienced adopter who understands gradual introductions and structure. King is currently addressing some resource guarding around food, so he needs a patient home committed to his continued training. Because he's a big, strong dog, a home without small children is advised. His ideal home would include someone familiar with German Shepherd or working breeds, is structured, and enjoys both training and play. If you're looking for a smart, goofy companion and have the experience to help King thrive, please apply to meet him.
