About Opal
Meet Opal, a charming 4-year-old French Bulldog who embodies a delightful blend of playful mischief and cuddly affection. Despite her tough past, she shines bright and is ready to bring joy to her forever home. Opal arrived at the shelter in distressing condition—dirty, underweight, and with serious eye problems. Initially mistaken for being much older, she was found as a stray needing urgent care for multiple health issues, including eye ulcers and skin conditions. After receiving the necessary medical attention, including spaying, she has transformed into the happy pup she is today. This sweet girl is packed with personality. She's funny, a touch bossy, and full of love. Opal enjoys her toys, snacks, and soaking up sun while curled up next to her people. Her adorable smile showcases tiny front teeth, and she knows how to use it to warm hearts. Opal generally maintains a medium energy level. She loves playtime but is equally content to nap close to her humans. Though she’s friendly with kids and gets along with strangers, she can be selective about other dogs. Slow introductions are essential, as she may guard her food and favorite people. For this reason, a calm home with few pets or as the sole canine would suit her best. She’s crate-trained, house-trained, and knows basic commands like 'sit'. While she’s fine on a leash, she could benefit from some extra practice to build her confidence. A car ride? She’s a bit nervous, but with positive reinforcement, she’ll improve. The ideal forever home for Opal is one where someone is present often, familiar with French Bulldog care, and ready to keep up with her medical needs—she has glaucoma and dry eyes requiring ongoing medication. If you think you can offer Opal the love and care she deserves, she may just be the perfect addition to your family. Start your journey with her today!
