At just 11 pounds, Missy packs a big personality into a tiny frame. This 11½-year-old Chihuahua came to H.A.L.O. in 2022 after being transferred from another animal control. After enjoying a loving home for several years, she recently returned when her owner could no longer care for her. Adapting to shelter life has been a challenge for Missy, which sometimes makes her a little "spicy." She’s incredibly affectionate once she forms bonds. Per her previous owner, she got along well with everyone. Missy is housetrained and crate trained, and she'd rather have your company than be left alone. Given her preference for a quiet atmosphere, a home with mature children aged 12 and older would suit her best. Like many seniors, Missy has some manageable age-related quirks. She is blind in her left eye, has had all her teeth removed, and may have some hearing loss or just chooses when to listen. She also has a heart murmur that needs monitoring and some arthritis in her knees that can be managed with veterinary care. Although Missy is in her golden years, she still hopes for one more chapter filled with love and comfort. Requirements include a Martingale collar and medical management for her knee issues and heart murmur.
