About Rufio
Meet Rufio, a gentle and affectionate Cane Corso mix currently in search of a loving home. At 66 pounds, he’s working towards his ideal weight of 75 pounds. Rescued from the streets in January 2026, Rufio has been learning to trust people and is making great strides. This sweet boy is quiet and shy, but his love for companionship shines through. After just a week with his foster family, he began following his foster mom around, seeking affection and cuddling up on the couch and bed. He enjoys time with the two kids in the household, especially bonding with the 9-year-old son. While he’s a little intimidated by his foster dad, there’s been no aggression; he simply prefers to keep a distance for now. Rufio’s energy is low to medium. He delights in evening walks, does well with leash training, and doesn’t react to other people or dogs. Known for his soft demeanor, he rarely barks but has a funny howl when his foster mom leaves the house. Rufio is dog-friendly and has been living with two senior Chihuahuas, allowing them to take charge. Fully house trained, he signals when he needs to go outside and is comfortable in his crate when left alone. This sweet, timid boy would thrive in a patient environment that helps him build confidence. Watching Rufio grow and trust as he finds his forever home would be an exceptional journey. Rufio is located in Houston, TX, but can be transported to most states for an additional fee. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
