About Francine

Francine is one of the lucky ones and she knows it. Found wandering the streets of Houston in January 2026, she was painfully thin at just 30 pounds, fighting for food and survival. Yet, even after all she has endured, Francine has kept her gentle, loving spirit intact. Now weighing about 60 pounds and thriving, Francine is an estimated 2.5 years old and appears to be a Lab/Hound/Great Dane mix, boasting big paws and an even bigger heart. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and is ready to find a loving home where she can continue to flourish. Dog-friendly and affectionate, she thrives on human companionship. She enjoys leaning in for cuddles and giving full-body hugs, though she may do best in a home without small children while she learns her manners. Her past has made her protective over food when other dogs are around, but she is okay being fed separately and is fine with people near her food. Francine has minimal interest in cats, although this is not guaranteed. She adjusts quickly to new environments, but she needs a patient family to help build her confidence. If you're looking for a deeply loyal and affectionate companion, Francine is eager to meet you. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
