About Spike

Meet Spike! This little guy has had a tough past, which has left him wary of new people. Despite his growling and snarling, what Spike truly craves is love and security. His fear is apparent, particularly towards men and boys, but he can warm up to women with some patience and understanding. Spike is a one-person dog. If you're a single woman without a busy social circle, you could be the perfect match for him. Be ready for a 90-day journey of trust-building. In the first month, Spike might hide and growl, but with time, he will begin to approach you. By about day 70, he may accept treats and even snuggle with you under the covers—albeit cautiously. If you stick with him through this boot camp, you’ll find that he transforms into a loving companion who will greet you with wagging tails and snuggles. Bonus: Spike is good with other dogs and, once comfortable, is quite the low-maintenance lap dog who enjoys napping and cuddling. Ready to take on Spike's journey of love? Apply today!
