About Willie
Meet Willie: the neighborhood legend turned loyal best friend. At just about 2 years old and 40 pounds, Willie is a handsome Lab mix with a story that could be made into a movie. This clever pup spent some time on the run, becoming something of a local celebrity with multiple sightings throughout the neighborhood before finally finding safety. Now, he’s ready to leave his wandering days behind and discover family life. When Willie first arrived, he was a bit underweight and understandably scared. Though still shy, it’s clear that he loves being around people. He leans in for head scratches and hopes you'll stick around a little longer. Willie walks well on a leash and has a medium energy level, though we think that will change once he settles into a loving home. He enjoys chasing tennis balls, and you can see his eyes light up with excitement when you toss one his way. He will thrive in a home with a secure fenced yard where he can decompress and establish a stable routine. Compatibility with other dogs, cats, and children is currently unknown, so a meet and greet with any resident pets is necessary. Willie is part of our foster-to-adopt program, meaning you can welcome him home while he completes routine veterinary care, including neutering, vaccines, heartworm testing, and getting microchipped. If you're ready to help this former runaway discover home life, please reach out to us. He deserves a place to belong, and that could be with you. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
