About Butler
**Meet Butler** Butler arrived from Detroit, where life posed its challenges. Fortunately, a caring woman ensured he and his feline friends were fed, helping him learn that kindness does exist. He's gradually building his confidence and learning to trust again, making his journey a rewarding experience for those around him. This handsome patch tabby is about a year old and weighs just over ten pounds, still growing into his striking figure. Butler is sweet, affectionate, and quite vocal, especially when treats are involved—food truly is the way to his heart. While he isn't always up for being picked up and will kindly express when he's had enough, he loves being in the company of people. As he learns to trust, his affection blossoms. He has a playful habit of being a bit mouthy when excited—a gentle way of saying, "I like you!" Butler is still shy about hands, but he isn't a project cat; he needs a patient home that understands confidence takes time to develop. With a consistent, kind environment and space to grow, he will reward you with a special bond. Butler is FIV positive, but this is more a label than a limitation. FIV-positive cats can enjoy long, happy lives, and the virus isn’t easily spread between them. He gets along well with laid-back feline friends and is even warming up to a dog in his foster home. Butler might not give his heart away on the first day, but once you've earned it, you’ll have a loyal companion for life. If you’re searching for a sweet, charming friend and recognize that meaningful relationships take time, Butler could be the one for you. Butler is currently in a foster home. If you want to meet him, please send a message here or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fee is $175, which includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccines, microchipping, combo testing (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
