About Dek

Dek was discovered during the winter with his sister, Thia, left at Mt. Airy Forest. Both had frostbite on their paws, but they quickly warmed up to their foster home, jumping into a Jeep and falling asleep soon after. Dek is a true charmer with a big personality. He loves to claim his spot on the couch and makes up for it by being an exceptional cuddler. Smart and eager to learn, he is crate trained and does well on a leash. He gets along great with other dogs and doesnโ€™t pay much attention to the fosterโ€™s cats. Dek enjoys playing solo or with his canine companions. Take this opportunity to add him to your family! Note that all dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm preventative if over six months of age. To meet Dek, an approved application is required. The rescue does not operate a shelter, so appointments are arranged only with approved applicants. A home visit is also necessary for every adoption, so preferences are given to those within a two-hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you live further away, it's recommended to reach out to a local rescue or shelter. Click apply to start the adoption process.
