About Huey
Meet Huey, also known as Huey Lewis and the News or His Excellency, the Mayor of Leisureville. This distinguished senior dog radiates a vibe of calm and collectiveness, much like a retired statesman who has mastered the art of leisure. Huey has a passion for tennis balls and snacks, finding joy in quiet companionship and leisurely strolls. With a short coat of gray and cream, he carries 70 pounds of wisdom with grace. While Huey enjoys some personal space, he also adores being near his people, whether that's supervising from a cozy spot or following you around the house. He gets along with both calm dogs and respectful cats, currently sharing his home with a little dog who keeps things interesting. Although he has a history of nipping at a child years ago, he’s shown nothing but love and respect in his current foster care. Ideal for homes with older children, Huey prefers the company of respectful, low-energy individuals. Despite his age and some arthritis, Huey believes aging is a privilege. He takes medication to manage mild hip dysplasia and has a flair for the dramatic when it comes to his tennis ball performances. While he may be mostly deaf and has reduced sight in one eye, he remains curious and engaged with the world around him. Let’s not forget Huey’s taste in fashion — he believes every day is an occasion worthy of classic attire, ready for an afternoon tea or an unexpected encounter with royalty. His favorite pastime? Strolling through farmers markets to meet new friends and collect compliments. If you want to adopt a calm, soulful companion who offers unwavering loyalty and gentle companionship, Mayor Huey is waiting to meet you.
