About Lia
Meet Lia, a 5-year-old Shepherd mix who made her way from Mexico in search of her lifelong companion. At about 27 pounds, Lia is the definition of a "Velcro dog"—she thrives on closeness, always wanting to be right next to her person. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch or napping on you, she pours her affection into the bond she forms. Despite her gentle nature, Lia has a spark of playfulness. She gets goofy zoomies, loves toys, and is always up for a run at the park. She’s city-savvy, already navigated subway rides and bustling streets, and takes new sights in stride. Lia is both house-trained (outdoors and pee pads) and eager to pick up new commands; she already knows "sit" and quickly learns new routines. She can be a bit reserved with strangers at first but blossoms with patient, respectful introductions. She does best in calm households and feels most at home around teens and adults who understand her need for space. Small children aren’t a good match. Lia is happy as an only dog, though she can also thrive with a canine companion who shows her the ropes. You can leave her solo for a few hours and she’ll settle calmly, not causing any trouble. Lia is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on preventives. She’s ready for a home where she can truly bloom and give all her love to a patient and understanding family.
