Buddy
AvailableBuddy is a medium-sized, tricolor (brown, black, and white) mixed breed Terrier/Boxer with a short coat, currently living in Sewaren, NJ. He is an adult neutered male who is house trained and up to date on vaccinations. Buddy does not have special needs, but his experiences make him a uniquely resilient companion, well suited to a home with another friendly dog.
About Buddy
Buddy came to the shelter in rough shape after likely being left tied outside for years. His coat was dirty, his body showed pressure sores, and he suffered from tick-borne illnesses—remnants of his difficult past. Add in a collapsed trachea, a result of being tethered and pulling against the leash, and it’s clear Buddy’s first years weren’t easy. Since arriving, Buddy’s body condition has turned around. He’s discovered the simple pleasure of running free in the yard and has learned to walk gently on a harness. Buddy is dog friendly and truly thrives in the company of other dogs. He’d do best with another canine pal, as he tends to get anxious when left alone and needs someone to help him adjust. This boy craves human interaction and finds kennel time distressing. He’s currently being treated for Lyme and Ehrlichia, but is expected to make a full recovery since he isn’t showing symptoms. Buddy’s had it tough, but he’s ready for someone patient who can offer stability, love, and lots of company. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
