About Cooper

Meet Cooper! Cooper is about a year old and has already captured the hearts of everyone at the shelter with his cheerful nature and playful spirit. He arrived as a stray in Texas and, despite an uncertain past, has handled shelter life with more grace than most. Standing at about 40 lbs, he’s a medium-sized young dog—likely some blend of Shepherd, Heeler, and Pointer, but no one can say for sure. His markings are striking and set him apart in a crowd. Cooper thrives on positive attention and shows genuine affection to his people. He gets along well with other dogs and would probably enjoy another playful canine in the home, though it’s not strictly necessary. Cats are a question mark, so he’ll do best with experienced adopters if there’s a feline in the picture. Since he’s still learning house training and basic manners, his future family should be ready to work on the fundamentals. Expect typical adolescent energy and the need for structure and patience. A house with a fenced yard is ideal for Cooper’s bursts of play and curiosity, but dedicated apartment or condo dwellers are welcome to apply too. He needs active adopters who can provide both exercise and mental stimulation. Cooper is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative—truly ready for his next chapter. He’s in Texas, and transport is included in the adoption fee. Note: you won’t be able to meet Cooper in person before adoption, as he travels to you once the match is official. Think you are the one?
