About Gandalf The Warthog

Gandalf The Warthog has a backstory as colorful as his many nicknames. He arrived in rough shape, underweight and in need of a better environment, but he's bounced back—especially in the personality department. At four years old, Warthog is truly one-of-a-kind; his looks turn heads, but his goofy charm wins hearts fast. He gets along well with other dogs and will trot along easily on a leash or relax in his crate without complaint. True to his bulldog nature, he's boisterous, known to "sing" when the mood strikes, and loves fiercely even if he’s not winning any dog IQ awards. There are important things to know: Warthog is not good with cats, chickens, or other small animals. He has a unique medical quirk—a condition where, during a strong pee, urine also comes out of his butt. Vets have checked him out, and despite the oddity, he’s lived like this comfortably with no real issues. Any future testing or treatment is optional unless things change, and the rescue believes he deserves a full, happy life regardless. Looking for a stand-out personality who’s beaten the odds and left shelter staff grinning? Gandalf The Warthog’s ready for a playful, understanding home. This dog is in Salisbury, MD.
