About Lucky

Lucky is a gentle, good-natured boy still learning what it means to feel safe. He won’t be the instant party companion—he sits back, watches, and needs time to get comfortable. If you want a bold, go-anywhere sort of dog, Lucky’s probably not your match. But if you appreciate a sensitive, easy-going, and playful companion who loves quietly tagging along on outdoor chores and yard wanderings, he might just fit right in. Lucky likes following confident dogs around the yard and takes cues from them, warming up steadily with patient, gentle routines. He’s been friendly around cats and even horses, and with a few slow introductions, becomes very loyal and loving. New people or situations take him time, and he’ll retreat to a crate or shady spot if unsure, but he grows more confident each day—as long as things don’t move too fast. Lucky’s house training is coming along; so far, he reliably potties outside, but hasn’t explored much indoors. Submissive peeing happens if he’s nervous or very happy, but this is improving. Experience with shy dogs or openness to professional training is ideal for him, and he thrives in quiet homes with predictable routines. Lucky is a medium-coated, striking black and white Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, about seven months old and weighing 30 pounds. Born November 13—he’s a Scorpio, known for being loyal and slow to open up but loyal for life. He’s neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Lucky is being fostered in Bend, OR.
