About Haley

Haley spent her days huddled for warmth outside a Golden Corral in South County STL, far from her original colony and with no clear way back. Someone doing TNR work found her struggling in the cold and took her in until a rescue spot opened. She arrived with a badly injured and infected tail that required amputation, so now she sports a little bob tail. Haley is very sweet but approaches new situations cautiously; it's obvious she learned to be wary to survive outdoors. She'll need a calm, quiet home where she can slowly build trust, ideally with someone who respects cat boundaries and will give her plenty of space at first. Once Haley feels secure, she starts to seek out affection, especially head and ear scratches, and rewards gentle attention with happy head bumps. She isn't one for being held and prefers not to be touched near her back, likely due to her past injury. Canned food and treats are her favorite things, and she’ll make a beeline when she hears them. Haley is okay with other cats as long as they’re not too pushy but would do best in a home without children. She’s braver every day and is learning that people can be kind.
