About Outlaw
Meet Outlaw! The name might sound intimidating, but this chocolate Lab is the opposite—think loyal sidekick, not renegade. Outlaw is a happy-go-lucky 7-year-old with a case of perpetual wiggle butt. Always close to his people, he’ll follow you from room to room and then nap at your feet or stake out a spot on the couch. At 77 pounds, he’s big-hearted and loves company. He’s housebroken and crate trained, sleeping soundly in his crate at night. Outlaw rides calmly in the car and thrives on tagging along for any adventure. Smart and eager to please, he knows sit, down, shake, and off, and is working on perfecting his stay. Like any good watchdog, Outlaw is highly alert and nothing escapes his notice—though that vigilance comes with a strong prey drive, so he’s all about the fenced yard. The larger and more secure, the better, since he loves to stretch his legs and investigate every corner. Outlaw still needs ongoing work on leash walking, as his strength and curiosity can get the best of him around distractions. This big guy gets along great with other dogs—in particular, the two Labs in his foster home—and would love a canine companion or two. Cats, however, are a clear no. Outlaw also does best with older kids who are comfortable around a large, active dog. One quirk to know: he’s got a mischievous streak with food. Counter surfing is his vice, so a tidy kitchen is a must. Medically, Outlaw has a history of seizures controlled with medication. His new family should be prepared to keep up with his routine and coordinate with their vet for his ongoing health. Outlaw is being fostered in Fishers, near Indianapolis, IN, and is ready to meet the family who’ll let him ride off into a happy, loved retirement. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
