About Tonka
Tonka is a 7-year-old fawn Bouvier des Flandres with cropped ears and a docked tail who weighs about 102 lbs. He’s neutered and completely up to date on vaccines, heartworm, and flea/tick prevention. Recently, he had a clean bill of health from the vet and tolerated everything with ease. Tonka thrives alongside other Bouviers and currently lives in a foster home with two other dogs, getting daily walks in the Colorado mountains. He’s social, often eager when meeting new dogs and people, and has done well in group playdates with slow introductions. Tonka loves affection—expect him to seek out belly rubs, ear scratches, and snuggle time on the couch or bed. He’s gentle with his housemates and good with car rides. He can clear a 4-foot fence, so a secure yard is important. Currently, he’s working on leash manners and advanced commands; he responds well to training and even enjoys some agility work. Grooming, including nail clipping, is no problem for him, and he’s learning to tolerate having his teeth brushed. Tonka is house trained and happiest when he’s close to his humans, whether relaxing or on a walk. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
