About Opal
Opal is currently relaxing in a Wayside Waifs foster home in Kansas City, MO and welcomes visitors who call ahead. This blue-eyed domestic shorthair/siamese mix is equally affectionate and playful, keeping herself entertained with wand toys and hours spent watching the world out the window. Opal has lived with both dogs and cats before and is making progress living beside another cat in her current foster home—slow introductions work best for her sensitive nature. Opal’s past was bumpy: severe allergies had her coat thin and skin raw, leading to a tough surrender from the only home she knew. Thanks to persistent vet care, a special diet, and daily meds, she’s bloomed into a beautiful, low-maintenance companion. Her allergies are now well managed, and she’s cooperative with her treatments. She takes pets from anyone, and her playful, agile spirit shines through more every day. Opal isn’t just waiting for any home—she’s holding out for the adopter who’s ready to meet her unique needs and appreciate her resilient, loving personality. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
