About Jax

Jax is a Chinese Crested and Yorkie mix searching for a soft place to land in his golden years. At just 8 pounds and about 12 years old, he's a compact companion with a big, affectionate personality. Jax does well with cats, children, and dogs of all sizes. He thrives around people, enjoys cuddling on the couch, and will gladly drift off at your side in bed. This little guy is mostly hairless, so he’ll need sunscreen and some extra skin care—think lotion and UV protection on sunny days. Jax has a clever streak, so don’t underestimate his climbing skills or determination to slip out for an adventure; outdoor supervision is a must, even with a fenced yard. He isn't much of a barker but won’t hesitate to join in if the other dogs start a chorus. Jax makes an effort with pee pads, though he tends to mark, so he does best with belly bands indoors. Healthwise, he has cataracts in both eyes—one mature, one on the way—but still navigates life just fine. Recently, Jax had a bladder stone surgically removed and a dental that left him minus a few teeth, so his tongue sometimes peeks out for added charm. He's neutered, up to date on vaccines, and just had a full checkup and dental cleaning. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

Questions about Jax

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

As a Chinese Crested/Yorkie mix, Jax tends to be gentle and affectionate, making him a safe choice for homes with respectful children.
