About Marty
Marty is a 40-pound Carolina Dog mix with some Pit Bull in the blend, standing out with a goofy personality and a strong appetite for life. He’s energetic and loves playtime with other dogs, will snuggle up close—sometimes on top of you—and quickly shifts from barking at new noises to showing his sweet, affectionate side once he feels safe. The key to Marty’s trust is patience: let him come to you and he’ll be your loyal shadow. He’s house trained, walks well on leash, and already knows a handful of basic commands. Marty is very social with other dogs and does well with children, though kids who are older or dog-savvy will handle his playfulness best. He hasn’t had direct experience with cats, so slow, thoughtful introductions are needed. Marty is happiest in an active home where he’ll get daily exercise, car rides, or regular play in a fenced yard. He’s not a fan of being crated for long stretches—he wants to be near his people or have another dog buddy around. Marty was pulled from a shelter just in time and hasn’t looked back, relishing every "first" he gets to experience, from winter snow to a suspicious blueberry. His quirky ears and spotty nose just add to his charm. He’s still growing up and needs a family ready to keep up with his energy and teach him. If you’re looking for a clever, enthusiastic, and loving companion, Marty’s ready for his next adventure. Click apply to start the adoption process.
