About Elsa Iv
Elsa Iv is a 3-year-old Beagle with a lot of heart—literally. At 27 pounds, she's currently undergoing heartworm treatment, so she needs a Tampa Bay adopter dedicated to following her care plan with a Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue-approved vet. Elsa is very affectionate and always wants to be close; if you don't mind a dog glued to your side and even trailing you to the bathroom, she's your perfect match. She gets along with other dogs but can get jealous if she has competition for attention, though she will never be aggressive—her approach is to climb over the other dog rather than start trouble. Elsa's a true cuddler who would love to sleep in your bed and be your constant companion. She can be shy with new people, warming up after a few days, and usually bonds with women first before seeking affection from men as she feels more settled. Housebroken and crate-trained, Elsa may have some accidents when adjusting to a new space, so patience during her first week is important. She isn’t prone to howling after her initial night and seems to settle in quickly once she understands she’s safe. While her response to children and cats is unknown, her foster believes she’ll make a great family dog. She pulls on leash and benefits from a sturdy harness, and she's very curious—especially about learning how to play. You’ll also notice she’s not particularly food-motivated, a rare quality for a Beagle, but she’s respectful around mealtime. If you’re seeking a loyal, affectionate, slightly quirky shadow to stick by your side, Elsa may be the one for you. Adoption applications are only open to those in the Tampa Bay area.
