About Duke
Duke is a sweet, gentle Schnauzer who thrives in the company of both people and dogs. At 2 years old, he's grown into a playful yet mellow companion with a good balance of energy—always ready to romp in the yard, chase toys, or curl up beside you on the couch. Duke currently lives with a young puppy and is incredibly patient, often letting his little buddy win during playtime, and he also shares his toys graciously. He has proven to be calm and gentle around young children, especially a 3.5-year-old who is used to dogs. Duke enjoys snuggling up for affection, happily following his humans from room to room, and greeting newcomers with excited hops and happy barks. He sometimes gets a bit anxious when left alone, wandering the house until he finds someone, so he'd do well in a home where people are around much of the day. He settles quickly after energetic bouts and is comfortable relaxing in a crate. Duke is working on his potty training, tends to come when called, and rides willingly in the car. His unique paws—he has double dewclaws on one back leg and a single on the other—make him a quirky standout; he's a bit sensitive with his feet but otherwise easygoing. Like most young dogs, he’ll benefit from continued manners and house routine training. Duke is ready for someone looking for an affectionate, fun-loving sidekick with a gentle heart. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
