Luella is a 5-year-old, 11-month-old spayed female Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix living in Dalton, GA. She’s small in size and fully house trained. Her vaccinations are up to date and she does well with cats but prefers a calm household. Luella is wary of men, happiest with women, and needs a patient, caring home where she can feel secure.

About Luella

Luella came to the shelter when she was almost ready to give birth—abandoned, scared, and needing a safe place. She settled into foster care, delivered two pups, and watched them both find homes, but she’s still waiting her turn. Luella is a small, shy Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who prefers women’s company and remains wary of men. The ideal environment for her is a quiet home with someone around most of the time. She isn’t a cuddler or a lap dog—Luella likes her own space and would much rather nap nearby than be picked up. Give her a meal and someplace warm to sleep, and she’s happy. Her favorite activities are trailing her person quietly and napping in whatever patch of sunlight she finds. Housebroken and used to a dog door, Luella enjoys a fenced yard she can wander when she wants some independence. She’s known to be a bit impatient with other dogs but does fine with cats. Luella isn’t comfortable with children and needs a calm, adult home. If you need a loyal, low-maintenance roommate who will never judge and always listen, she’s it. Luella was born June 22, making her a Cancer—comfort seeking and deeply loyal to those she trusts. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
