About Rowdy
Rowdy is a 2-year-old Pit Bull/Shepherd mix with a huge, lovable presence and just as much heart. After losing his previous owner and arriving at the shelter with his canine friend Sassy, Rowdy took time to adjust, but he’s since become a favorite among staff. Once you earn his trust, you’ll find a loyal, affectionate companion who learns fast—he already knows commands like sit, stay, lay down, and shake. Rowdy has a comical, exuberant love for sticks—the kind that gets him yelping in pure, goofy delight. He loves water, long walks, and will often pause on outings to lean in for a hug, showing his side as a true people dog. He forms deep bonds with those he trusts and craves time spent with his humans. Given his energy, Rowdy needs an active household that will keep him physically and mentally challenged. His size and strength, plus a possessive streak about toys, mean he needs to be the only pet in the home, and ideally, should live with adults or older teens (16+) who understand strong, active breeds. Previous experience with dogs like Rowdy is important. He’s ready for stability, fun, and the affection he’s missed—all he needs is a committed home ready for a loyal goofball.
