Pappy
AvailablePappy is a neutered male, mixed-breed Domestic Short Hair currently living in New Orleans, LA. He is about 5 years and 1 month old, vaccinated, and house trained. Medium in size, Pappy does well with both cats and dogs. He’s looking for a calm home where he can settle in and feel safe again.
About Pappy
Pappy lost everything in an instant when his beloved owner was taken away, leaving him in a world filled with uncertainty. Shelter life rattled him—new scents, strange noises, longing for familiar comfort. At first, he barely ate. Only after settling in a quiet foster home did Pappy begin to heal. It still takes him a bit to settle in new spaces, but a cozy hiding spot, a window to watch the world, and a cardboard scratcher all make him feel safer. What really wins him over are Temptations treats—he perks up at the sound and won’t turn down a single one. Pate wet food is a favorite, much more to his taste than anything chunky. Other friendly cats in his foster home have helped him trust that his surroundings are safe, and Pappy would thrive best with another feline companion for reassurance. Pappy will need a patient adopter who understands that he comes with a little baggage and needs space, kindness, and routine to blossom again. If you’ve got patience and a soft spot for an underdog, he’s ready to repay your kindness over time. He’s been waiting since March 2025 and has earned the title of longest resident. Maybe you’ll be the one to turn that around. Your new best friend is just one click away.
