About Underwood
Underwood is part of a litter rescued from a crowded shelter and is now learning what it means to be a real puppy in a loving foster home. Named for a country music legend, Underwood combines the charm of an Australian Shepherd with the spunk of a Chihuahua. Expect a small-to-medium companion with playful energy, a sharp mind, and beautiful blue merle coloring. Socialization and confidence-building are underway, so Underwood is currently getting used to everything from toys to cuddles to new adventures outside the shelter for the first time. This puppy is not yet house trained and still working on all the puppy basics, but she already shows a loving, people-focused attitude. Underwood gets along well with dogs, cats, and children, making her a flexible match for many homes. She is not spayed yet but comes up to date on vaccinations, and her adoption includes spay surgery and other essential care through the rescue. If you love the idea of a clever little sidekick who will grow up to about 30 pounds, Underwood might be the new best friend you’ve been hoping for. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

Australian Shepherd/Chihuahua mixes are often a good fit for families, and Underwood is already comfortable around children, making her suitable for a family environment.
