About Mavis
Mavis is a 3-year-old, medium-sized black Labrador Retriever mix with a quiet and gentle personality. She can be shy at first but soon becomes affectionate and loyal once she feels safe. Mavis finds a lot of comfort and confidence around other dogs—she opens up most when she has canine companions, thriving with friendly dogs in the home. Completely housebroken, crate trained, and fully potty trained, Mavis is well-mannered indoors. She gets along with dogs and children but tends to stay close to people she trusts, favoring gentle affection, belly rubs, and calm company. Car rides are a little daunting for her, but she settles after a little reassurance. At night, she likes sleeping beside your bed and during the day, she’s content napping wherever she feels cozy—sometimes choosing your bed if you'll let her. Food is another happy part of her day; combining kibble and wet food makes her tail wag every time. Mavis does best in a calm, patient home with another welcoming dog. She’s ready to give all her love to a family who can offer understanding and steady companionship. Mavis is located in Houston, TX, and can be transported to most states for a $300 fee. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
