About Zadie
Zadie is a gentle, smart, and sensitive 2-year-old Australian Shepherd with a striking red merle coat and a long, pretty coat. She came from a tough background and is still learning that the world can be safe, so she may be timid until she knows she can trust you. Zadie blossoms with steady kindness and patience—her devoted, loyal side comes out around people who make her feel at ease. She does beautifully on leash and likes both calm walks and more active adventures. Food is a big motivator for her, especially once she warms up. Zadie thrives in a calm home and gains confidence from having another steady dog around who can show her the ropes. She likes her own safe space within the home, such as a crate, where she can decompress if things get overwhelming. Zadie gets along well with children and does well with cats—though sometimes her enthusiasm will turn into a bit of a chase, so supervision is helpful. She's house-trained and needs routine walks to stay on track. She’s looking for adopters ready to give her patient support; the payoff is a deeply loyal companion. Zadie is currently fostered in Rochester, NY, through Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
