EVERYBODY LOVES NACHO(s)! Nacho Libre is our sweet-as-marmalade tripod boy! He was rescued after being hit by a car, and after a few other attempts to salvage his back right leg, the vets made the call to free him of his shattered limb. He has adapted BEAUTIFULLY and is thriving in his foster home! NACHO'S STORY: Nacho Libre was found by a gentleman walking his neighborhood. The man noticed a little skin-and-bones kitten hobbling up to him, nonplussed by the man's two giant, barking Huskies. Undeterred by the loud dogs, Nacho crawled right up to the man and looked up at him with such pitiful eyes, as if saying "help me." The man, to his credit, did! And shortly thereafter, Nacho was brought to The Humane Society of Oldham County and immediately placed in his foster's care. He had severe bruising on this right back leg, and, after X-rays, it was determined his hip socket was completely shattered. His fosters worked to get him healthy. During that time, they got to enjoy the loveable, snuggly soul that is Nacho. Now, post-surgery (he had his leg amputated 4/30/26), Nacho is THRIVING and pain free! NACHO'S PERSONALITY: "Stranger" is the only strange thing in Nacho's life--he's never met a "stranger" before! He loves all people, and will often be found climbing promptly into folks' laps, regardless of whether he has known you for months or just met you 5 minutes ago. He has a ready purr motor, and enthusiastic "hop," and his favorite spot on earth is cuddling on your lap or legs as you binge watch your latest show (or doom scroll--he doesn't judge). While Nacho is a tripod, it doesn't slow him down! The life of the party, Nacho Libre is a ham and is a roly-poly goofball. He rarely does anything in life seriously, and often can be seen bouncing around the house with zeal and pep. Despite being one leg down vs. his other foster felines, he can scale his foster's cat wall with ease. It doesn't slow him down, and he can often be found napping in the cat tree if a human isn't available for cuddle time. He believes firmly that "there is always room for one more" and can be found piled on top of his foster Papa Mario (foster's resident cat) for cuddles, or snuggling with his fellow foster siblings (see pics). He can handle people being gone for short stints, but would thrive best in a household where there are often folks around for him to snuggle, get pets from, and shower them with his endless affection. NEXT STEPS: He can be a little much for kitties that get jealous or upset when others steal the spotlight (Nacho doesn't mean to be malicious--he just has a zest for life!), but he adores other cats and needs a forever family with a feline companion. He's neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He tested negative for FIV and FeLV (yay!) and is ready for his fur-ever family! Fill out an application today!
