Diesel is a male Pit Bull Terrier who’s about 8 and a half years old, living in Tinton Falls, NJ. He’s a senior dog with a short white or cream-colored coat and is medium in size. Diesel is neutered, house trained, vaccinated, and lives with special needs due to his deafness. He’s hoping for a calm, understanding home for his retirement.

About Diesel

Diesel has waited patiently for his happy ending long enough. He is a senior Pit Bull Terrier—deaf, and because of it, often overlooked or misunderstood. Through lots of change and challenges, Diesel’s nature hasn’t changed: he wants to love and be loved. After his foster had to relocate and his first adoption didn’t work out in a home with children, Diesel ended up back at the shelter. The stress was tough on him; he even developed pneumonia, but proved tough and resilient in his recovery. He’s spent time in training, learning how to coexist with other dogs, but Diesel truly isn’t interested in canine company. Playgroups and dog parks don’t appeal to him. His heart is with people. He’s a classic velcro dog—the kind who shadows you through the house and wants nothing more than your company. Because Diesel can’t hear, trust and routine matter to him. He forms close bonds and asks for stability and kindness. Diesel isn’t looking for much—just a place where he can spend his golden years in peace and comfort, loved and wanted. If you’re drawn to dogs who need a break and have room in your heart for a senior with a lot of love left to give, Diesel could be your perfect match. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
